Time has passed and I’m already with my host family but I thought that you might want to know how I got them exactly. So if you’re interested, just keep on reading!
I still remember the exact date: It was on April 1st. We had a rehearsal at school for a concert on that evening. My two best friends and I had to sing a song and we chose Say by Ruel (if you don’t know him, please check him out and I want to say hi to his biggest fan, you know I mean you;))
After the rehearsal, I guess it was about 4:30pm (the concert was at 6pm), we could go home again. I’ve to take the bus to go home because the school is 8km away from my house.
When I took a look at my mobile phone, I saw a message from my mom. She wrote that I should call my organisation but that she she doesn’t know why either. Then I got nervous because I thought that I might have gotten my host family.
When I got out of school, I called my organisation directly. It was the woman to who we always talk when we have questions. She told me that she would have amazing news: my host family. After that I got more nervous from second to second. During that I was sitting in the bus with some others.
She asked if I would be ready to know where I’ll live during the next year. And then she told me that I’m gonna be a MICHIGAN girl (I want to say hi to Hannah here, I hope you know why;)) Some details: I’m going to live in the south, close to the border to Ohio.
After that I received my placement via E-Mail and googled everything (btw I started crying in the bus because I was so happy;))
On my way home i told my best friends and later my parents before we got to the concert.
Yeah I wouldn’t say we were the best…(you know)
